Total receivables is the total amount of money that is owed to the business by its customers. Most business sell their goods / services to customers on credit basis. The customer will be required to pay the due amount to the business within a specific period of time. Between the date of sales and the date on which the customer pays for the goods or service the due amount is recorded under the total receivables head.
Th is relevant only in case of industrial, utility and insurance companies.
Total receivables is marked on the assets of the balance sheet under current assets section.
