Total long-term indicates debt taken on by the company which is due to be paid after more than a year. The debt might be in the form of borrowings from banks/financial institutions, bonds issued by the company etc. In the earlier example used in the previous filter articles, we mentioned that Navya had taken up a debt of Rs.12,00,000 from a bank. Suppose Rs.1,00,000 is up for repayment within 1 year then the balance Rs.11,00,000 is the long-term debt on the books of the company.
