MF Holding Change – 6M is calculated as the difference between the current mutual fund ownership percentage and the percentage 6 months ago. Suppose, mutual funds held 42% stake in the company 6 months ago and currently they hold only 34%, the ownership change percentage is (34 – 42) = -8%.

Extreme spike or fall in MF ownership level is an indicator of potential change in performance of the company. If MFs anticipate that the company might register improved performance in the future they are likely to increase their stake in the company and vice versa.
